A milestone week for our team in Germany with the ground-breaking ceremony at our largest project to date in the German market – Logistik Park Diemelstadt.   With direct access to the A44 and excellent transport links to the most populous regions of Germany and Europe, the site at Diemelstadt benefits from access to 22 million consumers in a three-hour drivetime.   What’s next? ✅ The 68,000 sq m building will start taking shape this year with flexible units from 10,000 sq m available for occupation from early 2025 ✅ We are targeting DGNB German Sustainable Building Council Gold certification for this project and its extensive range of energy-resilient features that will support tenants in reducing their carbon emissions and operating costs. ♻ Scannell Properties France continues its sustainable growth strategy, redeveloping brownfield sites or renovating old buildings, with the acquisition and #redevelopment of a 34,250 sq m #multimodallogistics platform at the Port of Strasbourg in eastern France.   The Port of Strasbourg is France’s second largest river port which connects to major maritime hubs including Hamburg and Rotterdam. Situated 1km from the A35 motorway, 1km from the German border and with direct access to key rail and river transport networks, the port provides an ideal location for cross-border, multimodal and ecologically-responsible logistics operations. The plan: ✔ Complete renovation of the building into a modern Class A site ✔ Divide space to meet the needs of multiple tenants ✔ A 13,700 m² extension to increase the total surface area to 47,970 m² ️ ✔ BREEAM Official In-Use certification for sustainable building management   In terms of #energysaving, we are aiming for a 20 - 25% reduction in the building's energy consumption. This will be achieved through a range of initiatives including the installation of a #BMS (Building Management System), new #LED lighting and improved #insulation. #circulareconomy #redevelopment #retrofit #logistics
