"German Fairytales and More" Literary Tour - Informational Session . Please Note --> This is a Past Event!! . Date: 10/19/2017 Time: 6:30 PM TO 8:00 PM 310 S Meridian St Greenwood, IN 46143 Phone: 3174026982 Event Description: During this 11-day journey, we will venture through Germany from Berlin all the way to Munich, stopping in small towns and villages, famous for its culture, traditions and literary history. We'll enjoy a guided city tour of Berlin, an optional tour of the Sanssoucci Palace and Gardens in Potsdam, and a visit to Bergen-Belsen – the concentration camp where Anne Frank spent her final days. Then we make our way to the famous Fairy-tale Route, made famous by the Brothers Grimm. We’ll stop in Bremen, Hamelin, Trendelberg, Sababurg and Kassel –towns where the Grimm Brother’s lived, studied, wrote and based their famous stories. We’ll see Rapunzel’s Tower, Sleepy Beauty’s Castle, Lowenburg Castle and the Grimm World Center and exhibition. We explore the medieval city of Rothenberg, perhaps the most famous town of Germany’s Romantic Road. Enjoy free time to explore this beautiful town, take in some wine tasting and join the Night Watchman’s Tour. Then, we make our way to Neuschwanstein Castle – the famous castle that inspired Walt Disney's Cinderella’s Castle. Before we arrive in Munich, we’ll stop in Oberammergau, where the Passion Play is held every 10 years (next up in 2020). We finish our tour in Munich, but there is an optional 2-night extension available for those who wish to stay for a guided tour of the city, a visit to Dachau, and to enjoy the festivities of Oktoberfest! During this informational session, we will review the itinerary in detail, tour inclusions, accommodations and more, as well as collect registration forms and deposits.
